National Center For Parents
The National Center for Parents (NCP) at the University of Toledo is a force in creating the type of cultural and governmental shift that is needed to support the status that parents deserve and require. As a university-wide center, the NCP focuses on broad issues affecting parents that transcend the traditional boundaries of race, color, national origin, and socioeconomic status. The NCP seeks to answer the questions that will affect how parents are valued, empowered, and mobilized in our society so that our children can reach adulthood safely and healthfully.
Mission
To engage in collaborative, multidisciplinary research and deliver useful information that demonstrates whether policies empower or hinder parents in fulfilling their responsibility to care, nurture, and educate their children.
Vision
Become nationally renowned for publishing the highest quality research on current policies affect parents to determine whether the modifications are necessary, and, for shaping policy relating to parents on complex issues in need of intervention. The NCP will develop parental impact statements that government, non-profit agencies, and businesses use when formulating legislation, regulations, policies, and procedures relating to children and the family.
