Genome Comparison Casts Light on Dark Areas of DNA

October 25, 2011 – 6:12 pm

A massive effort to sequence and compare 29 mammalian genomes has shed new light on the “dark matter” of the genome, the over 98% of DNA that doesn’t code for proteins.

The DNA that lies outside of gene sequences was once called “junk DNA.” But researchers now know that these non-coding regions have important biological functions. Many disease-causing mutations have been found in these areas, and scientists have pieced together some clues to their functions. For example, some regions regulate the expression of genes, controlling when genes are turned on and off. Neverthel

    October 17, 2011 – 1:46 pm

Gaspari SuperPump is a supplement designed to enhance lean muscle mass and strength while simultaneously decreasing body fat.  It claims to boost pumps, increase mental concentration and energy as well as to improve vascularity.  So, does Gaspari SuperPump live up to these high claims?SuperPump does in fact live up to much of the hype.  This product does deliver great results.  Its effectiveness is even tested independently so that users receive the most for their money.Ingredients include to patent pending formulations, SuperPump 250 Propretary Blend and Anabolic Signalling Complex which is made up of Glucose Polymer blend, NO2 Complex (L-Arginine, L-Arginine Alpha-Ketoglutarate (A-AKG), L-Arginine Ketoiscocaproate (A-KIC), Salicylic Acid, Panax Ginseng Extract, and Guanipro.Alongside these are further patent-pending formulations including Myogenic Transcription Factor/Agonist; Lipolytic/Xtreme Focus Agent; Insulin Secretagogue Complex; and IntraSORB Rapid Absorption. These various matrices are all composed of some essential ingredients.  AAKG for instance is in the Signalling Complex.  This is a potent substrate for NO.  It helps with dilation and giving users that feeling of being pumped.  It enables better and more blood flow and therefore improves muscular endurance levels.  It also helps to enhance performance. In studies of the supplement, power output was measured and good results were found.  Bench press endurance was better for those who had taken the supplement compared to those participants given solely the placebo.  Peak power was also higher among the group given the creating/AAKG supplement.L-Citrulline is another commonly used ingredient in these types of supplements.  This ingredient is useful in the regulation of NO levels and helps the body to raise levels of arginine.  Moreover, L-Citrulline has also been found to help with post-workout fatigue.  Use of the supplement can decrease feelings of fatigue and help speed up recovery times after intense training sessions. Most importantly Gaspari SuperPump contains an ingredient called Turkesterone or (arjuga turkestanica) which is derived from a plant grown in certain areas of Southern Siberia, Bulgaria and other parts of Central Asia.  This plant has been found to have some very potent effects including: increased production of muscle fibres.  It has also been found to improve protein synthesis stimulation and help with lactic acid removal.  The plant has also been shown to increase glycogen levels and concentration in the muscles. Finally, Turkesterone can also help with the effective muscle to fat conversion rates.  Improved conversion of body fat into lean muscle mass makes this ingredient a very promising addition.Overall, scientific evidence and clinical trials have proven Gaspari SuperPump to be an effective supplement.  The combined ingredients make this dynamic blend a good choice for those looking for a product of this type.
