Transform! Confession Of An Ex-Emotional Eater
September 24, 2010 – 8:37 amLosing and regaining weight blesses a person with a great deal of knowledge about diets, healthy eating, unhealthy eating and exercise. Just as important as you eat and is “why” you eat. Boredom, happiness, anger and every other emotion provide provocation for an emotional eater to gorge or starve themselves contributing to an unhealthy amount of calorie consumption.
I’ve found that the missing link to changing how I deal with the ebb and flow of life without “relating” to food is in the word of God. Instead of using food to satiate my emotional deficits and celebrate the highs, I trust my heart to God.
It is the life transforming power of the word of God that graces us all to glorify Him. Any and everyone who desires to stop allowing food to do what God has promised can find comfort and strength in His word. On the days I need to be reminded of whom God is to me, I speak His word and promises over my heart and mind to heal my emotions.
This is my confession:
Who I am today physically is not who I have to remain. I embrace a new attitude and ideals about eating and exercising. I don’t turn to food for anything more than fuel, and I will engage in physical activity the way God intended. It does not sustain or satisfy me emotionally because God cares all about me and how I feel. My mind is transformed and my heart is cleansed from previous unhealthy desires for food and acceptance of inactivity.
